Alicante Climate
Alicante has a typical Mediterranean climate with hot summers weather and mild winters. Its climate is greatly influenced by its coastal location with the city offering some of the best weather on the Costa Blanca as it is protected by hills and mountains to the north which create a micro-climate with limited rainfall.
Typically Alicante has around 20 rainy days each year.The average sunshine during the winter is around 6 hours, and in summer you can expect up to twelve hours. Sea temperature is at its warmest in July to September which makes it ideal for swimmers and water sports enthusiasts.

The most popular time to visit the Costa Blanca is between May and October when the weather is guaranteed to be sunny and warm most of the time. It can get far too hot and crowded for some during the peak summer months and a number of travellers visit Alicante over the winter and spring months when it is cooler and there can be the odd shower. Some of the bars, restaurants and attractions are closed over this period.
